Kingsbery Ranch is located approximately 7 miles west of Crystal City on FM 1668 and Kingsbery Lane. There is approximately one-half mile of paved road frontage and one mile of county frontage. It is an active livestock and recreational hunting property owned by the same family for decades. Comanche and Turkey Creek meander through the property providing excellent forage, cover, and large mature mesquite, cedar elm and hackberry. Excellent native brush throughout includes mesquite, guayacan, Brazil, huisache, twisted acacia, white brush and prickly pear. The terrain of the ranch is predominately flat comprised of Cochina and Cotulla Clay rising to a Maverick Clay Loam in the northwest section. Electricity is found near the corrals located at the center of the ranch and along FM 1668. There are lots of deer, hogs and the drainages provide excellent turkey habitat. Dove, quail, and some waterfowl are also found. Some blinds and feeders will convey. Jack Kingsbery, the family patriarch relayed some of his experiences on this ranch in his book "Cowboy Wrecks and Rattlesnakes."
