Common Questions

Texas Property Types: Common Questions

What is the difference between a high fence and a low fence ranch?

A high fence ranch is enclosed by game-proof fencing, usually about 8 feet tall, which keeps deer and exotics on the property and allows closer herd management. A low fence ranch has standard livestock fencing, so native game moves freely across property lines.

Can a hunting ranch also run cattle?

Yes. Many Texas ranches are used for both hunting and grazing, and some carry an agricultural or wildlife valuation. Confirm the current valuation with the county appraisal district.

Are the commercial land listings existing buildings?

Most commercial listings are undeveloped land and acreage. Any existing buildings or other improvements are identified in the individual property descriptions.
