The camp

A Hunting Cabin, Guest Cabin and Covered Shed

The main cabin had 1 bedroom, a living area and a large covered porch. Next to it was a 1 room cabin for guests and extended family.

A covered shed behind the cabins protected ranch equipment, and the cabins were wired for a quick generator hookup. The camp sits on the east side of the ranch close to the access road.

Habitat

Heavy Native Brush and Roads Throughout

Heavy native South Texas brush covered the ranch, mostly mesquite, blackbrush and granjeno. Rich red sandy loam soils grew good grass that helps quail numbers.

A road system gave access throughout and around the property, with about 20 to 25 feet of elevation change.

Whitetail, Turkey and Good Bird Hunting

Wildlife in the area includes whitetail deer, Rio Grande turkey, javelina and feral hogs.
